Opening of Troop Meeting
Start with a flag ceremony and the Pledge of Allegiance. This may be accompanied with the Scout Oath or Scout Law.

Announcements should be given that pertain to the whole troop. Ask for any individual announcements from scouts, committee members, or parents.

Announce the remaining agenda for the night's meeting. (personal advancement, game, final announcements, closing flag ceremony).

New Scout Induction Ceremony

SPL	Seat guests and scouts New scouts in back of room First row empty for new scouts
	Light SPL candle Turn on podium light
SM	Turn off lights
SPL	REPEAT for each new scout "Do we have a new scout who would like to join this troop?"
Escort	"Yes, we have ____name____."
SPL	"Please escort ___name____ forward." (Escort brings scout forward to troop guide and then sits or returns to rear of room.)
Troop Guide	"___name____ welcome" Shake hands Ask (and help) new scout to light candle. Ask new scout to be seated.
SPL	"Thank You" ___name____ for adding your light to this room."
SPL	"As you have witnessed when each scout adds his candle to the light it becomes easier to see the eagle trail." -"Will ___name____ light the candles for troop 501 eagle scouts." (If an eagle scout is not present have Mr. Henninger, Mr. Oesterrich, or Mr. Miller light the candles-1 white candle for each eagle scout.) -"Will ___name____ light the junior assistant scoutmaster candle." -"Will ___name____ please come forward with the Flaming Beaver patrol to light their candles." -"Will ___name____ please come forward with the Raccoon Patrol to light their candles." -"Will ___name____ please come forward with the Dragon Patrol to light their candles." -"Will ___name____ please come forward with the Frog Patrol to light their candles." -" Will ___name____ please come forward with the Badger Patrol to light their candles." -"Will ___name____ please come forward with the Eagle Patrol to light their candles."
SPL	"I will light the candles for our scouts who are not here tonight."
SPL	"As each candle adds to the brightness and makes the Eagle Trail easier to see - so it is when each scout works together. It will make advancement, our duties and our having fun easier and better. Let's work together and help each other so each of us can be as good as we should be."
SPL	"Please stand for the presentation of the colors."
SM	Turn on front lights.
SPL	"Color guard advance." Bugler plays to the colors. Color guard presents the colors at the front of the room.
SPL	"Post the colors" "Please accompany me in the Pledge of Allegiance." Turn to the flag. "Hand salute" Say pledge. "Two" "Please be seated."
SPL	Welcome SM (Mr. Corniea) conduct the induction of the new scouts.
SM SPL	SM invites each individual forward and presents him with his scout badge. SPL presents new scout with name plaque and helps them to hang it.

Closing of Troop Meeting
Gather the troop together. Make any final announcements necessary (from yourself, SM, scouts, committee members, or parents). Clean up the meeting space. Replace all tables and chairs to original position.

End with retiring the colors. May also include the Scout Oath or Scout Law.
